MemoryTester Manual
MemoryTester™ offers the following commands:
- stress — full utilize all CPUs, test for bad memory and flaky components, test memory bandwidth;
- compute — measure compute performance with different number of threads;
- alloc — allocate memory and keep it paged-in.
- vm — test how efficient the system is under low memory conditions.
GUI vs command line
These are “one click” operations designed to provide useful results with no fuss. The “alloc” command is a specialty command which requires use of the command line tool.
Graphing results
MemoryTester does not draw graphs— output is in text form.
However, a spreadsheet is supplied into which you can paste results for an instant graph for the compute command, which shows at a glance how a multi-cpu or multi-core computer scales under compute load.
